Cotyledon orbiculata (Silver Dollar) features large, round, coin-like leaves with a striking red margin. Like most South African succulents, it thrives in well-draining soil and bright sunlight, which brings out the intense red margins. It is prone to mealybugs hiding in the leaf axils, so inspect regularly and treat with insecticidal soap or neem oil if spotted. Water deeply but allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Prune off tall, spent flower stalks at the base to keep the plant looking tidy.
